Meet The Team

Michael and Emma are the owners of Manor Hill House and are proud to have developed this successful business in the area that means so much to them.

The farm where Michael was born and grew up is visible from the terrace so he really is at home here.

Michael and Emma have been married for 36 years and have 3 children Edward, Victoria and James.

Both Michael and Emma are very involved in the running of the house and the events that we hold. Michael is a popular figure behind the bar or ensuring the grounds are well maintained (he is well known for his famous stripey lawn) whilst Emma is a perfectionist, with an eye for detail second to none.

Operations Manager

Chris, our Operations Manager, has worked at Manor Hill House since he was 16! Starting as a young waiter, balancing his studies at school and then later while completing his degree at The University of Worcester, Chris worked 100’s of weddings and really got a grasp on how the industry ran.

Over the years he has progressed and excelled in all aspects, taking on more and more responsibility, first as a Wedding and Events Coordinator and now into his current role. Chris works with the team to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible, from the first viewing to the day following the wedding when guests are enjoying breakfast.

Chris loves taking a hands-on approach and can often be found checking in on the maintenance of the property, conducting checklists aimed at health and safety and working with the team towards future developments at Manor Hill House.

He loves working directly with our couples, getting to know them and helping them to sculpt their dream wedding. Chris is there on the big day to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch. Liaising with our amazing wedding and event coordinators, fantastic suppliers and the couple themselves, Chris strives to give each and every couple a better wedding day than they could have ever hoped for.

Weddings and Events Coordinator

Sophie is one of our Wedding and Event Coordinators here at Manor Hill House. She works closely with couples on the lead up to their special day, whether it is showing them around the venue, sitting down and helping to create your bespoke menu or helping make those final decisions with finishing touches. Sophie takes charge of all our finishing touches at Manor Hill House and there is no question she can’t answer. From helping with planning table plans to sashing chairs with any colour of your choice. Sophie makes certain our weddings and events have all the drinks they require so we have no empty glasses! Sophie works closely with suppliers to get the best high quality sourced drinks for all guests, whether this is our wine selection or ordering the locally brewed 1985 draft larger we have on the bar provided by Wye Valley Brewery.

Sophie graduated from Birmingham City University this year with a first-class degree and joined the team shortly after. Even in this short amount of time, she has progressed massively and is eager to expand her knowledge within the wedding and events industry. Just like Manor Hill, Sophie loves animals and has her own Sprocker spaniel puppy called Dylan who she enjoys playing with and taking on walks.

“Staff at Manor Hill House really work as a family and I have enjoyed joining the team and feel so honoured that my job is to work with couples to plan their special day! I look forward to my future with Manor Hill House and gaining experience in the event industry”.

Weddings and Events Coordinator

Emma is one of our wedding and event coordinators. She works closely with each couple from the first viewing all the way up until your wedding day and even the next morning for breakfast! Emma is present on the day of the wedding for the bride and groom's arrival, right through until the evening guests arrive. She will be there for the ceremony, making sure dresses are fluffed and buttonholes are looking sharp! Emma also ensures every wedding and event is fully staffed making the day run smoothly from start to finish.

Emma is major foodie and has previously worked for a prestigious catering company in Oxford, she really enjoys sitting with couples to help plan the menu for their wedding day, and overseeing that the food is all perfectly plated ready for service. She will have meetings with couples in the run up to the big day and help plan every little detail.

With a dog of her own, Ozzy, an Australian Kelpie, she loves being around other animals, and especially loves it when couples bring their dogs to their wedding – she says “they make the best ring bearers!!”

“I’ve loved all the experiences I’ve had since starting at Manor Hill House. I started here right in the height of a busy wedding season, and it couldn’t have been a better time to start. I come from a family of food lovers and being able to work closely with couples and our head chef, Phil, to design their menus and plan their food for the whole day is just fabulous."
