How we are helping couples throughout this pandemic
The wedding industry, like many others has been decimated by the coronavirus crisis, leaving thousands of couples across the country facing the prospect of cancelling or postponing one of the biggest days in their lives.
One of those brides-to-be, Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Keren Long, is continuing to put plans in place for her wedding day, in spite of the daily heartache she faces on the front line.
Although little can be done to comfort the bride and grooms of weddings that were due to be carried out in the next couple of months, with rescheduling dates inevitable, wedding venue Manor Hill House in Upton Warren, Worcestershire, are embracing the virtual world, helping brides to be such as Keren, in a very upsetting time.
As we stay at home during lockdown, Manor Hill House are supporting couples across the region with their wedding plans through virtual tours and Zoom planning meetings. By making the best use of the time to continue to plan their dream wedding, gives a much-needed lift to both the happy couple and all the suppliers whose livelihoods depend on the industry.
Emma Moffett, Owner of Manor Hill House explains, “When you’re planning your big dream wedding, no one foresees a worldwide pandemic, such as COVID-19, to get in the way of the happiest day of your life. Obviously, it’s had a huge impact on our business but my heart really goes out to all the disappointed brides and bridegrooms, who have generally been planning to share their special moment with their friends and family for many months or years”.

Bride-to-be, Keren Long, ICU Nurse at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, expresses what a huge emotional support it has been having a venue still proactive in wedding planning, , “As an Intensive Care Nurse on the front line, I am well aware of the struggle we are facing right now! I can’t wait for my wedding at Manor Hill House next year. I’ll need even more of a party after this is all over”.
Supporting the local community has always been the highest priority for the team at Manor Hill House, and during the coronavirus crisis this is no different. As well as supporting wedding couples, Emma Moffett and staff are volunteering by helping with supplies for vulnerable neighbours. Plus, Briony Read, Wedding and Events Assistant, who is also training to be a paramedic, has volunteered to be a Vehicle Preparation Operative with the West Midlands Ambulance service, whilst her training has been paused.
